This Privacy Policy explains how Facefinder, operated by Emil Arnold ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Facefinder mobile application (the "App"). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
When you run a search, the photo you select is transmitted to a third-party facial-similarity search provider, FaceCheck.ID, operated by Tech Solutions (Belize), which returns visually similar images from publicly available sources — functionally similar to a reverse-image search. Facefinder does not store, retain, or index your photo. The provider processes the photo and deletes it within 24 hours under its own privacy policy. We do not use your photos for advertising or analytics and do not link them to your identity.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information beyond the photo you choose to submit for a search.
To find visual matches, the third-party provider may analyze facial geometry from the photo you submit. By running a search you consent to this processing by the provider. Facefinder does not collect, store, sell, or retain biometric identifiers or biometric information.
We use information to provide and operate the App, process your searches and subscriptions, maintain security and prevent fraud, analyze and improve the App, and comply with law. We rely on legal bases including performance of our contract with you, your consent, and our legitimate interests.
We use limited, first-party analytics to understand how the App is used (for example, whether a search completed) so we can fix problems and improve features. We do not use third-party advertising or attribution SDKs, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our analytics never include the photos you search.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Our servers are located in the United States, and the search provider operates in Belize. By using the App you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in these and other countries, with appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.
We keep account and minimal search metadata only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. Search results are not stored at all — they are delivered to your device for a single session and never saved, and we keep no history of your searches. Photos submitted for searches are not retained by Facefinder; the provider deletes them within 24 hours.
The App is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and you must not upload photos of anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it. Contact us at emilio.arnold99@googlemail.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, contact emilio.arnold99@googlemail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California (CCPA/CPRA): you may request to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, and to limit use of sensitive information (we do not process sensitive information for our own purposes). California's "Shine the Light" law also applies. Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia residents have rights to access, correct (where applicable), delete, obtain a copy of, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. We do not track you across third-party apps or websites. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, as no common industry standard has been finalized.
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version is effective when posted and indicated by the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated in the App.
