Frequently asked

What does NoteNamer do?

You upload a PDF of piano sheet music. NoteNamer reads the score, writes the letter name (C, F#, B♭) above every note, and can play the whole piece back on a grand piano with a piano-roll or a cursor that follows the page. You can export the labelled score as a print-ready PDF.

What files can I upload?

PDF files of printed piano sheet music. Clear, typeset scores work best. NoteNamer processes the file page by page, so multi-page pieces are supported.

How does the free version work?

You can try NoteNamer and see the first page of any score labelled for free. A subscription unlocks the full labelled score, playback, and PDF export for every piece.

How do I manage or restore a subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Reinstalled the app or got a new device? Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings.

The notes look wrong on my score

Recognition depends on the quality of the PDF. Very faint scans, handwritten music, or unusual notation can trip it up. Send us the file at the email above and we'll take a look.
